4/01/08 Memorial Service for Kyle
A memorial service will be held for Kyle Wilson Mead on Saturday, April 5 at 1 PM in Lafayette, LA on the University of Louisiana Lafayette campus at the corner of St. Mary & McKinley Streets in the Church Hall of Our Lady of Wisdom.
Kyle Wilson Mead played as a Defenseman for the UL Ragin' Cajun Ice Hockey Team. Kyle passed away Saturday, March 29th 2008. His teammates miss him greatly and will always remember him and his amazing tallent on the ice. May his soul rest with the Lord.
3/31/08 Loss of a Teammate
The Cajun's Hockey Team is sorry to inform the fans that Defensive player Kyle Mead passed away last Friday night (3-28-08). Kyle was one of our most prominent and effective defenseman and always brought laughter to the guys on the team whether it was on the ice or in the locker room before and after the games. He was a great friend to many and will be greatly missed. The team offers their prayers for Kyle's family and friends. Please keep Kyle and his family in your prayers. Rest in Peace Kyle Mead.
3/25/08 End of Season
The UL Ragin' Cajuns first season has officially ended and as a result the team's record is 8-4. The Cajuns are planning a full schedule next season with roughly 40 games split between home and away. The next season should be a doozy and the players can't wait until the fall. Also the jerseys are selling nicely and we'd like to thank all those who purchased a jersey for their support of the team!
2/25/08 UL Ragin' Cajuns sweep Tulane
The Cajuns were scheduled to play Tulane on the road twice this past weekend. The first game was a blowout as the cajuns showed their skills with a 16-2 win on the first game of the two game series on the road. The second game Tulane forfeited due to not having enough players to compete in the contest. The Cajun's current season record is now 8-4. The team's coach and staff are working on getting four more games scheduled, 2 home game and 2 away games. We'll keep you posted as soon as we find out any news! 2/14/08 Lots-O-Website Updates: Plus New Videos Section.
A bunch of sections of the website have been updated. A new section for Videos has been Added. The Staff Page is up and running as well as the Pictures page. There are only pictures from the latest game but more from previous games will be up soon! Also the Merchandise page as added an electronic ordering system that should help you buy a team jersey with ease!
2/10/08 Cajuns win against LSU!
.The Cajuns are making their first season in the ACHA league one to remember. The team record is now 6-4 and the team is looking better than ever. Friday & Saturday night the cajuns traveled to Leo's Iceland in Baton Rouge to battle LSU. Friday night LSU scored the first goal 3-4 minutes into the game and wouldn't score again until 10 minutes left in the game. The cajuns would wind up winning 6-3. Saturday night both teams were short two players via suspensions for fighting on Friday night. LSU scored within the first two minutes of the game again to gain a 1-0 lead, but UL came back strong when they scored 3 goals within a 3 minute window half way through the first period. UL took it to house relentlessly and would wind up winning 12-2. There are still more games to be played this season so keep an eye out!

2/6/08 Ragin' Cajun Hockey Jerseys!!!!
.The Cajuns have made their hockey jerseys available For Sale! Check out the merchandise page for ordering info. All proceeds from the jerseys go towards the teams funding for games and practices so all your help is appreciated.
1/14/08 Schedule Changes
A couple of things on the schedule have changed. The Alabama Away game has been moved to the weekend after the Florida Tournament and is reflected on the right hand side of the page. Also two Home games agains the UT Longhorns have been added to the schedule and are on February 15th and 16th @ the hockeyplex.
12/02/07 Cajuns Reign Victorious Over LSU!!!
The ULL Ragin Cajun's won both of their games against LSU Friday and Saturday Night. Friday night the Cajun's were trailing 0-1 after the first period and came back to take the win 7-2. Saturday night the pattern was similar with the Cajun's trailing 1-2 after the first period when they came back to win the game 8-5. The Cajun's go into the winter intercession break with their heads up!
11/28/07 Home games to be broadcasted:
Starting with this weekend's series against LSU, the audio from all home games will be broadcasted live on the web. We are excited to bring this service to those who cannot make it to the rink. Just click on the link 5 minutes before game time.
11/18/07 ULL rebounds by sweeping Tulane:
The Ragin Cajun's earn thier first victories of the season by defeating the Green Wave of Tulane. Both games were high scoring affairs with ULL coming out on top Friday 7-5 and Saturday 9-5. The team will enjoy being off this holiday weekend and will return to the ice on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 to take on visting LSU.
10/29/07 Ragin' Cajuns drop first 2 games to Alabama:
The ULL hockey team took to the ice for the first time this weekend playing the experienced Alabama squad. Friday night Ragin' Cajuns played well but fell short, losing 8-6. Saturday's game was all 'bama as they took the win 11-4. Overall, the ULL squad played well and now understand what it will take to play at this level. Come on out and catch the action on 11/09 and 11/10 when the team returns to the ice to host Tulane at the Hockeyplex.
